Memset hooks up the Team BRIT all-disabled racing team with high speed internet access

Memset has partnered with Team BRIT, an all-disabled racing team, to provide the group with high speed internet access at its HQ. The Surrey-based company has pledged its support for the team, which enables people with physical and psychological challenges to participate in motorsports.

Team BRIT will race in the Britcar Championship this year, and through its Racing Academy, it hosts track days across the country for disabled drivers, offering people the chance to drive on a race track using world-class hand control technology.

The team is managed from its base in Dunsfold, Surrey, the home of the iconic Top Gear track, and it is here that Memset’s services will be utilised. Later this month, Memset will be providing the Team BRIT HQ with high speed internet access, thereby significantly improving its connectivity.

This enhanced connectivity will be crucial for Team BRIT’s latest project – the launch of eTeam BRIT. Formed in 2019, eTeam BRIT is a team of all-disabled online sim racers competing in the iRacing series. The team hopes to stage a major iRacing event from the Team BRIT base, using top of the range racing simulators. To deliver the best experience possible, having a reliable and high-speed web connection will be critical.

Chris Burden, chief commercial officer at Memset said, “The opportunities that Team BRIT provide for people is truly inspirational and as soon as they approached us we knew it was something we wanted to be a part of. What we’re providing for them – high-speed internet connectivity – may seem fairly straight forward, but we know will make an enormous difference to the service and experience they are able to deliver to people and racing enthusiasts. We look forward to exploring ways we can support the team in the future.”

Team BRIT Founder and Team Principal Dave Player said, “Having a fast, dependable and a responsive web connection is crucial for our work. Our race engineer, crew and team administration manager are all based at our Dunsfold HQ and they have been struggling with poor connections and slow networks to date.

“We have some exciting plans for eTeam BRIT but without the right technology and  connection in place, hosting online racing events won’t be possible. But now with the help of Memset, we will have the setup we need to make us more efficient and we’re incredibly grateful for support.”
