Scality, best known for enabling distributed file and object storage and multi-cloud data control, has announced an expanded partnership with Veeam Software, the backup solutions specialist.
Working in collaboration, the two partners have fine-tuned Scality’s RING software-defined storage with newly-announced Veeam Cloud Tier to reduce long-term retention costs and make the scale-out backup repository capacity virtually infinite.
The joint development has resulted in a software package that simplifies storage management and allows faster restore times due to low latency network access to object storage, it is claimed.
