Data4 to develop new €500m campus in Italy

Data4 has announced plans for a new data campus located in Vittuone, Milan as part of the company’s expansion in Italy.

As reported by Bloomberg, Data4 intends to build eight facilities on a recently purchased 77,000sqm parcel of land.  The ‘Mil02’ campus represents an investment of €500 million and is scheduled to be completed in 2027.

Discussing the company’s future plans within Italy, Data4’s Country Managing Director – Italy, Davide Suppia, said, “For the development of our digital infrastructures in Italy, Data4 plans to invest €1 billion between 2023 and 2029.”

Financing for the deal comes from a €2.2 billion loan, with BNP Paribas, Natixis, ABN AMRO and Deutsche Bank acting as lenders.

“We have also already signed an option for a further tranche of up to €1 billion, which could be activated soon,” Data4 CFO Claire Vandromme added.
