Scala Data Centers has announced that a dedicated on-site 560 MW power substation is to be built at its its flagship Tamboré campus in São Paulo, Brazil.

The SSUBTB03 substation is set to be completed in two stages, the first of which is scheduled for December 2024. This new development follows Scala’s existing SSUBTB01 and SSUBTB02 substations, both providing 60 MW capacity.

The SSUBTB03 substation was authorised for grid connection by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) in Brazil.

“The magnitude of this project is compared to a few in the world and is the tip of the spear for a larger initiative that combines the demand of our customers for green data centers to support its evergrowing demand for cloud and AI with our vision for the country”, added Marcos Peigo, Co-Founder and CEO of the company.
