Legrand has announced the acquisition of two companies, Davenham and VASS, to bolster its presence in the rapidly expanding data centre sector.
Davenham, based in Dublin, specialises in low-voltage power distribution systems for data centres, including protection, switching, metering, and energy distribution. The company employs 350 people and generates annual revenue of approximately €120 million, primarily from Europe and the United States.
VASS, an Australian company, is a specialist in busbars for data centres. Located in Ingleburn, near Sydney, VASS employs around 40 people and reports annual revenue just under €10 million, mainly from Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Legrand’s Chief Executive Officer, Benoît Coquart, said, “We are very pleased to announce these acquisitions that will significantly complement our offering in the ‘white’ space (servers’ room) with solid positions in the ‘grey’ space (technical room), in the very promising datacenters segment. With 10 acquisitions in that vertical over the past five years, Legrand confirms its growth acceleration strategy in a domain where we are a key player and very well positioned.”
Including these two acquisitions, along with the three investments announced earlier this year — MSS, Enovation, and Netrack — Legrand’s recent acquisitions represent annual revenue exceeding €200 million.
