The first data centre on Yondr Group’s London campus is now ready for service, providing 20 MW of capacity in its first phase.

The data centre in Slough, West London, which will provide 30 MW of IT load once complete, is Yondr’s first facility in the UK. A second 30 MW building is also under construction on the site.

The London campus will provide a planned total of more than 100 MW once fully operational, and will be the largest data centre campus in Slough.

The project is on track to achieve BREEAM ‘Very Good’ certification, and will utilise hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) rather than diesel for the site’s back-up generators.

According to Yondr, collaboration with the University Technical College (UTC) at Heathrow was “integral to the project”.

“The success of this project is testament to the hard work and resilience of Yondr and our partners. We are immensely proud of our team’s dedication and expertise in delivering this hyperscale data centre project,” said Peter Hill, VP of Design & Construction EMEA at Yondr.

“The handover of our first UK data centre is a major milestone, not just for our Slough campus and Yondr, but for the UK’s data centre ecosystem as we respond to the global challenge of increasing data capacity.”
