Business Critical Solutions has enrolled five new recruits onto its 2024 apprenticeship programme, its largest intake since the scheme’s implementation six years ago.
Run in partnership with Southbank University, the scheme is open to candidates undertaking both MSc and BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management and the BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying course. The company currently supports 12 other apprentices undertaking university degrees.
Apprentices taking part in the scheme gain practical experience working across various client projects, learning from experienced professionals and observing the full lifecycle of data centre construction, from design to commissioning.
Weekly training sessions cover project and cost management, aligning with RICS APC pathways. Technical skills are developed through sessions focused on construction technology, including fire suppression, ventilation, and lighting systems. Additionally, workshops enhance soft skills like communication, leadership, and presentation, preparing apprentices for both technical roles and future career advancement.
