CyrusOne KEP has begun construction on its first data centre project in Japan.
The facility, named CyrusOne KEP OSK1, is located in the Kansai region and will deliver 48 MW of capacity across six 8 MW data halls once operational.
Construction of the shell and core twill take place in the second half of 2025; the development will be delivered in three phases, with the first 16 MW to become operational by the first quarter of 2028.
CyrusOne KEP is a joint venture between CyrusOne and utility provider Kansai Electric Power Co, which was formed in May 2023.
