Our sponsored video interview series, In The Spotlight, is back, and this time we’re joined by Chris Gothard, Director of Operations at Pulsant, and Nicky Stewart, Senior Advisor at the Open Cloud Coalition, to discuss the evolving UK cloud landscape.
Given recent moves by the CMA to probe deeper into the dominance of Microsoft’s Azure and Amazon’s AWS cloud services, conversations have surfaced around the importance of an open cloud environment. As Gothard notes, businesses need to realise that the ‘one cloud fits all’ approach doesn’t necessarily have any basis in reality – and in fact, may need different clouds for different things.
That’s why an open cloud environment is crucial, as giving you the ability to move workloads from wherever you have it today to somewhere else may provide you with a better solution – and what’s working for you today, may not be the solution to tomorrow’s problems.
As a member of the Open Cloud Coalition, Pulsant is keen to stress the importance of that flexibility, which is a key driver of the recently-launched Pulsant Private Cloud, which may offer a solution for those looking to gain greater control over their data, ensure compliance with emerging regulations, and embrace a flexible hybrid cloud strategy.
