Hetzner has added a new facility to its data centre campus in Tuusula, with plans to open a total of ten data centres at the site in the future.

After completing a building in July earlier this year, the company has said it is planning another facility that is expected to be operational by the beginning of 2022.

Hetzner stated it has also completed the groundwork for two additional units on the campus, with the first scheduled to open in early 2023.

Once all construction is complete, the Helsinki data centre park will offer ten data centres in total – but the expansion plans don’t stop there. Hetzner said it hopes to build up to data centres on the 150,000 square metre site.

“The events from last year accelerated our growth, and as a result, we almost doubled our headcount,” said People Operations Manager Riikka Huhtaniitty.

“We will be able to recruit new employees as soon as the new data centres become operational. We estimate that we will double our headcount over the next few years.

“As the number of servers grows, the need for talented new team members will also increase, especially for IT technicians, who will ensure that our machines remain operational around the clock.”
