STACK Infrastructure has announced its sponsorship of the Women’s Forum Youth Lab: Tech4Women Initiative.
The Women’s Forum, a platform championing gender equality and pushing for societal change, is running a new initiative focused on using tech to challenge inequality as part of its Youth Voices campaign.
Youth Lab: Tech4Women is an international hackathon taking place online until 6 November. Teams of young innovators between 16 and 25 are encouraged to submit ideas for a technology solution that can foster gender equality and change the status quo in four critical areas: climate, health, entrepreneurship and technology itself.
Selection of the winning team will take place between 7 – 13 November, with winners to be announced during the Women’s Forum taking place in Paris on 29 – 30 November.
As well as sponsoring the initiative, STACK will be taking part in the judging panel to assess the submissions created during the hackathon.
In a statement, STACK said, “Things are changing and we are welcoming more women into more and more senior roles around the world. We need to constantly reiterate the opportunities presented by technical industries to women, and the value of women in technical businesses. By supporting initiatives such as Tech4Women we hope to do this, be more welcoming to women and to attract more women to the industry by showcasing the wide variety of roles on offer.”
Anyone interested in participating in the hackathon should submit a five-slide presentation that introduces their team and outlines their idea using the via the initiative website.
