AirTrunk has begun construction on its 110 MW+ data centre in West Tokyo – AirTrunk TOK2.
TOK2 will be built across 11.36 acres of land and will complement AirTrunk East Tokyo data centre, TOK1, which opened last year in November.
A special jichinsai, or groundbreaking ceremony, performed by a Shinto Priest, was performed and included rituals to spiritually purify the site, in the hope of a safe and smooth construction.
The construction of TOK2 follows AirTrunk’s closing of a green loan earlier this year, which was secured to finance the new site.
