GTR leases GB One campus in entirety

KKR-backed Global Technical Realty (GTR) has announced that its 40.5 MW data centre development in the UK, GB One, has been leased on a long-term basis.

The unnamed client has secured the entire campus, which has a completion date for its first phase scheduled for spring 2024. All three GB One facilities are planned for final delivery in early 2025, with each data centre set to provide 13.5 MW of IT load.

As part of GTR’s expansion, the company has also appointed Sue Asprey Price its board as Non-Executive Director

“I am delighted to be joining the Board of GTR,” said Asprey Price. “It is exciting to be working with such an innovative and agile organisation that is focused on sustainable client outcomes.”

Asprey Price was previously a Senior Executive at JLL, where she served as CEO of Work Dynamics in EMEA.

“Sue joining our board is a fantastic endorsement of the potential that I know GTR has to make both an immediate, and lasting, impact in this space,” added Franek Sodzawiczny, Founder and CEO at Global Technical Realty.

“The ongoing demand for high quality space against a backdrop of capacity challenges is now garnering significant interest beyond traditional customer communities. Investors of all types are also paying a lot more attention – growth capital and real estate, but also those with infrastructure portfolios. Collaboration, however, is the critical success factor for ensuring future success – whether in funding, design, construction, or operation. I’m excited for what’s coming.”

“Today’s news marks an important milestone for GTR. In addition to securing a significant win in the competitive global data centre market, GTR is attracting top talent with Sue’s appointment to the board,” said Waldemar Szlezak, Partner, Infrastructure at KKR. “As the demand for third-party data centre provision continues to grow, GTR is well-positioned to seize new opportunities and continue to expand its market footprint.”

GB One is being developed by GTR in parallel to its facility in Tel Aviv, Israel, IS One.
