Riello UPS has unveiled a significant expansion to its Multi Power2 uninterruptible power supply range, promising enhanced flexibility and cost-effective scalability for mission critical environments such as small to medium-sized data centres.
The extended line-up adds a new 300 kW cabinet alongside three 600 kW variants, joining the existing 500 kW model. The models maintain the compact, modular design the Multi Power2 line is known for, while promising efficiency up to 98.1% in online double conversion mode.
Each system is equipped with advanced silicon carbide semiconductors, which Riello says reduces both heat output and energy losses, helping operators to cut cooling requirements and lower their carbon emissions. The modular design also supports hot-swappable 3U 67 kW power modules, helping to eliminate single points of failure and ensure minimal downtime for maintenance.
What does the newly expanded Multi Power 2 line-up look like?
The newly expanded line-up includes:
- Multi Power2 300 – This unit accommodates up to five power modules for a maximum of 300 kW, and features bottom cable entry and an integrated manual bypass switch.
- Multi Power 2 500 – Like the name suggests, this unit can play host to up to eight power modules for a maximum of 500 kW. It has the standard top cable entry and air filters, plus an integrated manual bypass switch.
- Multi Power 2 600 – For those who need to put just one more power module over the 500, the 600 has space for up to nine power modules for a maximum of 600 kW. This unit is available with or without switches, and a choice of front-to-back or front-to-top ventilation.
Up to four Multi Power2 UPS can operate in parallel, providing a total capacity of up to 2,400 kW for larger sites.
Beyond the new units, Riello UPS additionally offers Multi Power2 Scalable solutions in 1000, 1250, or 1600 kW ratings, capable of protecting up to 6,400 kW when four units run in parallel. These units are designed specifically for modern data centres that need to deal with rapid load changes that are often associated with AI-driven workloads.
Leo Craig, Managing Director of Riello UPS Ltd, commented, “With this exciting expansion of the Multi Power range, we are addressing the data centre industry’s growing focus on energy saving practices for a more sustainable future. By combining market-leading efficiency of 98.1% and flexibility in terms of power ratings and cabinets with a reduced carbon footprint and total cost of ownership, we are delivering data centres proven results without compromising on power continuity or performance.”
