Future Publishing selects Telehouse for London colocation deployment

Future Publishing, the UK’s biggest magazine publisher, has selected Telehouse as its new colocation partner, as it looks to step up its digital offering.

The deal will see Future deploy 10 racks in a private cage environment at Telehouse South and comes as part of a review of Future’s London data centre footprint. The company is eager to ensure that it has the right infrastructure in place to support performance-critical workloads, strengthen operational resilience and provide additional flexibility as the publisher’s digital requirements continue to evolve.

Future, which operates a portfolio of more than 200 brands, has become increasingly reliant on digital platforms to support content delivery, audience engagement and service availability. That makes resilient data centre infrastructure a key part of the company’s ability to maintain access to its content and services, particularly as publishing continues to shift further towards always-on digital channels.

The company reviewed a number of potential providers before selecting Telehouse South, citing the site’s physical security, connectivity and customer experience as key factors in the decision.

Telehouse delivered the new environment in line with Future’s project timelines, enabling the publisher to begin building out its space at the start of the year. Future has since worked with Telehouse’s account, operational and service delivery teams as the deployment has progressed.

Harry Pyant, Sales Manager, Telehouse Europe, noted, “Future Publishing needed a secure, resilient and well-connected data centre environment in London that could be delivered on time and support the business as it grows. Just as importantly, they wanted a partner they could work closely with and trust throughout the process. We are delighted to have been selected by Future Publishing and look forward to supporting the team as their requirements continue to evolve.”

John Davies, Senior Director of Infrastructure and Security, Future Publishing, added, “What stood out from the start was the quality of the relationship and the continuity of support. From our first conversations through to delivery, we worked with the same people, which made the whole process straightforward and efficient. Telehouse delivered on the timelines agreed, the site itself was highly impressive, and the team has been responsive and easy to work with throughout. For us, this gives us the resilience, connectivity, and flexibility we need across our London data centre environment.”
