CyrusOne has announced plans to build a data centre in Frankfurt following the company’s acquisition of the Europark site in Sossenheim.
The facility, dubbed FRA6, will provide 72 MW of capacity across four floors, with each level delivering 18 MW.
CyrusOne has said that FRA6 will be BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certified and will meet the requirements of the planned Energy Efficiency Act. The facility will be built using sustainable materials, and will be designed to run at a PUE of below 1.3 and feature a closed loop water cooling system.
The site currently still in the planning stages on the acquired site, which totals 27,500 sqm of land.
“The acquisition of the Europark site further demonstrates CyrusOne’s commitment to Frankfurt as the digital capital of Europe and our ongoing European expansion. CyrusOne’s European portfolio encompasses more than 270 MW IT capacity in facilities located across Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Madrid, Paris and Dublin.
