Panellist Torkild Follaug is Chief Sustainability Officer at Green Mountain.

Torkild is responsible for developing corporate sustainability strategies and coordinating internal and external resources.

His background is business development, with 25 years of experience in various roles as advisor, consultant, entrepreneur and investor.

He has served as expert advisor for the European Commission Horizon 2020 programme and has broad experience in promoting Norwegian tech-SMEs in Europe and USA. Follaug holds an economics degree from BI Norwegian Business School.

He will be joined by Dr. Thomas Verghese, Technical Manager at Enersys.

Thomas is an energy storage industry expert with almost 30 years’ of experience, with a background in energy storage systems selection, specification writing, and maintenance. 

Thomas has been actively involved in the development of several battery products, including Lithium-based solutions for use in hazardous environments and lead-based batteries for heavy-duty vehicles, and he has written numerous papers and presented at various industry-related conferences over the years

Moderator Mark Acton, Advisory Board Member for the The Data Centre Alliance, has been a specialist in the field of data centre operations and technical management for more than two decades.

A regular public speaker and thought leader on data centre technical issues, Mark sits on multiple technical and advisory boards.

He is involved in the development of International Data Centre Standards through ISO and CENELEC as the UK national representative as well as being the Technical Editor and Committee Chair of the European Commission Code of Conduct on data centre energy efficiency since 2013.
