STACK Infrastructure has broken ground on a planned expansion at its SVY01 data centre in San Jose, which will see an additional of 60 MW capacity added to the site.

The expansion will also include two data centres and a manufacturing facility, bringing the total campus to 100 MW.

The company said it is working with PG&E to develop new power infrastructure in the area, ensuring a more reliable, scalable grid for both public and private use.

“This expansion stands as an example of STACK’s dedication to building lasting local partnerships and stimulating overall community growth,” said Matt VanderZanden, Chief Operating Officer, STACK Americas.

“Delivering responsible scale to our clients while positively impacting the region is paramount to our mission of contributing to a broad based, sustainable economic future.”

San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan added, “I’m proud to see STACK build out new data storage and compute capacity in San Jose that will help us maintain our competitive edge as our booming AI sector puts ever-growing demands on critical technology infrastructure.”
