CBRE agrees to buy Onnec for up to £760m

CBRE has agreed to acquire London-based data centre infrastructure specialist Onnec Group for up to £760 million, extending its technical services business across Europe and Asia-Pacific.

The US property services group will pay £460 million upfront, with a further £300 million potentially payable over several years if Onnec meets specified growth targets.

The acquisition will add Onnec’s networking and connectivity expertise to CBRE’s existing data centre facilities management capabilities, allowing it to offer a broader range of infrastructure services across multiple regions.

Building a global infrastructure services business

CBRE has been expanding its technical capabilities through acquisitions in recent years.

In 2024, the company acquired Direct Line Global, a US-based specialist providing infrastructure design, installation and maintenance services to data centre operators.

That was followed in November 2025 by the $1.2 billion acquisition of Pearce Services, which expanded CBRE’s expertise across critical power and cooling, renewable energy infrastructure and telecommunications networks.

Onnec will extend that strategy across Europe and Asia-Pacific, complementing the data centre infrastructure services CBRE already delivers in the US.

Vikram Kohli, Chief Operating Officer at CBRE, said, “CBRE is pursuing an explicit strategy to build a global infrastructure services business to complement our real estate services business.”

The scale of that ambition is reflected in CBRE’s financial forecasts. The company expects Onnec to generate approximately £370 million in revenue and more than £50 million in core EBITDA in 2027.

CBRE also forecasts that its Critical Infrastructure Services business, which will incorporate Onnec, will generate nearly $4.5 billion in revenue that year.

Across its wider infrastructure services activities, CBRE expects revenue to reach nearly $7 billion in 2027.
