Asperitas has closed a scale-up investment round of an undisclosed amount to support international expansion of its immersion cooling technologies.
The latest investment round was led by Stecon Group, one of the leading construction firms in Thailand, and Invest-NL. The company also received continued backing from existing shareholders Shell Ventures and PDENH.
Aperitas says that the new round of funding will be used to ramp manufacturing and delivery capacity and to advance its portfolio spanning passive natural convection and active direct forced convection immersion systems. The company also plans to deepen its offering of integrated solutions for modular data centre concepts, targeting deployments in both core and edge locations.
Demand for liquid cooling is rising as AI workloads and next-generation chips outstrip the limits of air cooling and tighten power headroom in major hubs – that means this funding couldn’t come at a better time for Asperitas, enabling it to capitalise on the growth in the sector. That growth is expected to be explosive too, with immersion cooling alone tipped to hit $7.2 billion market value by 2034.
“This investment round marks an important milestone for Asperitas. We’re proud to welcome new strategic partners and to continue building on the trust of our existing shareholders. With this support, we can accelerate our mission to help data centres maximise the effective use of energy for compute, reduce their environmental impact, and grow sustainably in a market that’s evolving faster than ever,” noted Rutger de Haij, CEO of Asperitas.
Sampan Chanaburanasak, Managing Director at STECX Ventures (the venture arm of Stetcon Group), added, “As one of our strategic pillars is to ‘Shape Tech Leadership’ in Thailand and the ASEAN region’s infrastructure investment, we constantly seek out cutting-edge technologies to complement our move toward the forefront of investment projects. Immersion cooling is one of the most effective and scalable technologies to address energy efficiency and sustainability challenges in the digital infrastructure space. Asperitas stands out as one of the leaders with its efficient technology, experienced leadership, credible partnerships, and strong positioning in a market driven by the growing global demand for high-performance chips.”
